North Korea Answers Trump

North Korea’s envoy threatened to conduct a nuclear test in the Pacific Ocean after the U.S. widened trade sanctions.  Kim Jong-un said Trump was “mentally deranged” after the American president called him “Rocket Man.”

 

Maria Destroys Puerto Rico

Irma gave Puerto Rico a respite, but the island was thrashed by Maria. Trump declared both Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Island (in the photo) disaster zones. The storm, now category 3, is headed northwest, away from land.

Mexico in Mourning

The death toll now stands at 278 after the earthquake hit Mexico. Although teams of rescuers are still searching the debris, hopes of finding survivors are fading fast. Watch the efforts of citizens helping clear the rubble in this New York Times Daily 360 Video.

 

Spring begins today

Spring officially starts today at exactly 5:02 in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to rise, and the dry air, characteristic of winter, will likely continue almost to the end of the season, when a little more rain will increase humidity.
